Tiny Dancer is a small independent Baby / Kids / Womens clothing label, founded in April 2020 by me, Nozomi Sakuma.
Every item is handmade in my small studio in Wellington.
I source and purchase most of my fabrics locally in NZ.

A little bit about myself and why I started Tiny Dancer.
My name is Nozomi Sakuma, I moved from Japan to New Zealand in 2017.

I founded Tiny Dancer in April 2020.

I’ve always been interested in fashion and have wanted to start my own clothing company since when I was 10 years old.

After having my first child in 2019, I fell in love with making baby clothes.
After working in the fashion industry in japan/Tokyo for 10 years and doing a range of things from retail, to being an overseas buyer in USA for vintage stores, and even helping direct a runway show for Tokyo fashion week, I realized that the fashion industry can be quite wasteful.

So my vision for my brand is to make individually tailored, high quality garments, rather than mass producing stock, as I’m a firm believer in quality over quantity.
